Families after an epic adventure this summer may want to head to Snowdonia National Park in Wales!

That’s because existing attraction Surf Snowdonia is undergoing a massive £16million development, which will include a host of thrilling offers from climbing trails and off-road pump tracks to extreme slides, abseiling and even artificial caves.

Basically, it’s perfect for families who don’t like to sit around and laze on the beach.

Surf Snowdonia will become Adventure Parc Snowdonia, and is expected to open to the public in summer 2019, although the existing in-land surf lagoon will open a little earlier in May.

They’re seriously upping the ante with a plethora of new adventures.

For example there’ll be ‘Adrenaline Indoors’, inspired by nature and offering climbing, artificial caving, parkour, a ninja trail adventure, extreme slides, and even a zip line across the surf lagoon.

Meanwhile those hoping for fresh air can check out ‘Explore Outdoors’ where intrepid explorers can try their hand at mountain biking along the trails, off-road pump tracks, and a fun fitness trail and adventure playground for smaller kids.

Adventure Parc will also include its very own concierge service which can help families create their own bespoke itinerary, including off-site activities like gorge walking and abseiling.

But that’s not all.

In 2020, there will be further expansions to include a wellness spa offering a mix of indoor and outdoor treatments, as well as conference facilities.

The property is also in talks with Hilton Garden Inn to look at the possibility of opening a 106-bedroom, lagoon-side hotel; it would be the brand’s first in Wales.

Jim Jones, managing director of regional marketing body North Wales Tourism, said: "Surf Snowdonia is a transformational development that has regenerated this part of the Conwy Valley.

"It is now one of our top attractions in Wales and has contributed immensely to our dynamic regional and economic tourism profile.

"The fact that the team are looking to invest further in a new state of the art all year-round indoor attraction and hotel is further testament to the confidence of our adventure offer."
