Royal Caribbean is upping the ante for luxury cruise holidays as the cruise line reveals plans to open FIVE private islands.

The first, Perfect Day at CocoCay, will open later this year in May in the Bahamas following a $200million transformation (approx £151million).

The following four will include an island in Asia, Australia and another in the Caribbean.

These luxury hotspots will be exclusive to Royal Caribbean cruise passengers, with each of the five islands boasting its own unique concept for holidaymakers to discover.

Perfect Day at CocoCay will mark the launch of the exciting venture. The island’s existing private island underwent a major makeover to include a host of family-friendly features.

We’re talking a 13-slide waterpark with the tallest waterslide in North America, the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, a 1,600-foot zip line and two specially designed beaches.

Basically, sounds like total bliss.

In November, the company will also open Coco Beach Club with overwater cabanas from which guests can enjoy those unrivalled ocean views.

Ten Royal Caribbean ships will feature CocoCay in itineraries this year, while 2020 sailings will stay later in the evenings. The company plans to offer overnight stays from 2021.

"We are introducing the Perfect Day Island Collection to deliver the most memorable holiday for adventure seekers on land and on-board our ships."

At the moment the company is staying pretty tight-lipped about what it has planned for the other islands, but if PerfectDay is anything to go by, it’s sure to be seriously glamorous.
