- Shape of my heart. Whip up a warming brew in a “you’ll always have a pizza my heart” mug, £1.29 at Home Bargains. I also like Home Bargains’ coffee stencils. Place one on top of your coffee mug and shake cocoa over the top to leave a heart shape. They cost 49p for a two-pack.
- You’re sound as a pound. If you are looking to propose on the big day, you can buy one of four different styles of engagement ring in a heart-shaped box for just £1 from Poundland. They come in different sizes too. Poundland’s selection of heart-print wine glasses, plates and bowls are just £1 each too and perfect for a night in.
- Say it like you “meal” it. Head to TK Maxx for foodie gifts that don’t cost a bundle. I found an Italian dine-in set with a wooden spoon, sauce and three types of pasta for just £9.99. Give it as a present, then use it to dish up a romantic meal.
- Light up my life. This week Aldi’s Specialbuys, include luxury candles for £3.99 apiece. Scents include Desire, which smells like orchids and honey, and Love, which gives off a rose and vanilla fragrance.
- Can’t bear to be apart. Pick up a giant teddy bear for just £3, down from £7 at B&M. Or seek out a teddy holding an “I love you” sign, for just £6.99. B&M also has a heart-motif doormat for £4.99.
