Rita Ora has apologized for throwing herself a 30th birthday party in London over the weekend.

Police arrived at her secret bash, which took place at West London restaurant Casa Cruz Saturday night, because Ora and her group of 30 people allegedly broke the lockdown rules in place to battle surging COVID-19 numbers.

“It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK…” Rita began her Instagram Story apology. “I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement.

“Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”

Ora said she felt “particularly embarrassed” for the soirée as she knows “first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe.”

“Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.”

Attendees of Ora’s “spur of the moment” party included models Cara and Poppy Delevingne. Following the party, a spokesperson for Prime Minister Boris Johnson blasted celebrities’ choice to flout the lockdown rules.
