As we get closer and closer to 2021 and the arrival of a new member of the royal family, speculation around Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's name choice for their royal baby is heating up.

The couple are expecting their first child in early 2021, and three names are the frontrunners when it comes to betting odds.

According to BetVictor, the name Alice is the top prediction for a baby girl, which was the name of Prince Philip's mother, while Arthur and Henry – both common names within the Windsor family tree – are currently tied when it comes to boys' names — all three with 9/1 odds.

Henry is Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry's real name, while Arthur is a middle name of Prince William, Prince Charles and Prince Louis.

Other top predictions for a name should Princess Eugenie and Jack welcome a girl are Grace (14/1), Victoria (14/1), Alexandra (14/1), and Diana (18/1), which of course would be a lovely recognition of the late princess. The name Isabella has also been put at 22/1.

When it comes to boy names, top betting odds belong to Thomas (12/1), Godfrey (14/1), George (18/1) and Charles (20/1). Thomas is priced at 12/1, with Godfrey an outside shot at 14/1.

Eugenie and Jack have been quietly enjoying married life since their lavish wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in October 2018. It was the year and place where Harry and Megan had also wed.

The new baby will be the first grandchild for Prince Andrew and Fergie and will be the Queen and Prince Philip's ninth great grandchild.

An announcement was made by the royal family's official Twitter account, revealing that The Queen's granddaughter will give birth in the new year.

They posted to their 4.2million followers: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.

"The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news."

On September 25, Eugenie shared their exciting news on Instagram with a sweet post featuring the couple holding a fluffy pair of bear slippers, writing: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021…"

Her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, also tweeted her congratulations, saying: “I am so excited by the news that Eugenie and Jack are expecting their first child. “Thrilled for them both and in my 60th year cannot wait to be a grandmother.

“Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy.”
