Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world when they announced their exit from the royal family in January, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have been working on their exit plan a lot longer than anyone realized. The tell-all will hit stands in August and might reveal more details about when the Sussexes knew their time in the monarchy was over.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for an explosive tell-all
Scobie recently announced that he will release his tell-all book, which covers Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Harry’s exit from the royal family, this summer. According to Express, Scobie revealed that he worked very hard on the book and is happy that he can finally discuss it in public.
“It feels nice to finally be able to talk about it afterquietly beavering away on this for such a long time,” he added.
As the couple’s royal biographer, Scobie has been granted uniqueaccess to their lives. He also talked with Prince Harry and Meghan’s closefriends, whom he believes shed light on what the two are really like behindclosed doors.
Scobie told fans that “no stone has been left unturned” and that they will read about how the Sussexes stood “strong in the face of adversities.” He hopes his book will tell Harry and Meghan’s story without the “noise of the headlines and mistruths.”
Royal watchers cannot wait to read Scobie’s book, but his commentabout how long he has been working on the project has raised a few eyebrows.
How long did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan their exit?
Scobie did not reveal too many details about his upcoming book. But the fact that he has been working on Finding Freedom for two yearshas raised questions about when Harry and Meghan decided to leave the royalfamily.
After writing the book for the past two years, Scobie admitted that there have been plenty of “twists and turns” along the way. He also alluded to the idea that he did not start the book knowing how it would turn out and that even Prince Harry and Meghan were surprised by what happened.
“These are things that no one expected. I don’t think evenHarry and Meghan, who by their own accounts struggled with the realities of thesituations they were in, expected things to turn out the way they did,” heexplained.
Scobie did not say anything about when Harry and Meghan started to have discussions about leaving the royal family. The couple’s announcement in January shocked fans around the world and even members of the royal family were reportedly blindsided.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s exit from the monarchy became official on March 31. The two are now living in Los Angeles with their won, Archie Harrison (who just turned one).
Everything we know about ‘Finding Freedom’
The full title of Scobie’s book, which he co-authored with Carolyn Durand, is Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of a Modern Royal Family. The tell-all drops on August 11 and was reportedly written with Prince Harry and Meghan’s full cooperation.
The book was originally only 320 pages and had a release date inJune. According to Newsweek, the publishers pushed back that date to August and the authors added 48 pages, most of which likely tackle the couple’s decision to leave the royal family.
Although the publication is still a few months away, the book hasalready reached the top spot in Amazon’s bestseller list. Fans can pre-ordertheir copy of the biography online.
Other sources claim that Scobie did not interview Harry and Meghan for the book and that the Sussexes have not endorsed the project in any way. Instead, Scobie and Durand relied heavily on sources close to the couple to tell their story.
“It’s not an official or endorsed biography and does notclaim to feature interviews with The Duke and Duchess,” an insider dished.
Prince Harry and Meghan have not commented on Scobie’s biography.
