Well, bingo – this is the hack for you.
Now that the autumn weather is setting in, we’re looking at big, bold flavours and hearty meals.
And, while you might not be able to cook it on the BBQ anymore, steak is always a winner.
A lovely juicy beef steak with chips and vegetables topped with bearnaise sauce is our favourite.

But, rather than simply seasoning your steak in salt and pepper grab a beef OXO cube as well.
We know, sounds a little strange when there’s no boiling or stock involved.
Chef James Martin told his Saturday Morning viewers that when he finishes cooking off his steak he sprinkles it with the beefy OXO powder.
The flavoursome dusting adds a tasty, savoury edge to the meat which you’re sure to go barmy for!
And, it seems that Brits have been indulging in this hack for years, as there are whispers of the trick in foodie Facebook groups.
One home cook called the trick “10/10.”
So to make your steak top notch start off by seasoning your steaks with salt and pepper – to your preference.
It’s best if you can salt your beef around 20 minutes before cooking as this allows the seasoning to break down the proteins and keeps the meat juicy.

Then, melt some butter in a pan – we also like to add some minced garlic and rosemary.
When the butter is foaming, add the steak and cook it for two minutes.
Crumble over the beef OXO cube and then flip the steak and cook it for another two minutes.
The cube will set you back around 7p as you can get 12 for 93p from Tesco.
Let the steak rest while you plate up your sides.
James Martin told the BBC GoodFood Show : “Seasoning with a beef stock cube makes steak taste amazing.”
