Matt Hancock: Parts of south to enter Tier 4 on Boxing Day

Boxing Day is the busiest day in British retail, with thousands of people heading to the shops to try and grab some great deals after Christmas. Here’s everything you need to know about Next’s Boxing Day plan.

Next will be opening on Boxing Day to allow customers the best chance to find the very best deals after Christmas.

Traditionally, retailers across the country slash prices on their products in a bid to get rid of stock that wasn’t purchased for Christmas gifts.

If you’re hoping to snatch a deal at Next this year, you’re in luck!

But a number of Next stores won’t be able to open on Boxing Day, due to latest Government Covid restrictions.

What time will Next stores open on Boxing Day?

Each individual Next store may have varying opening times, so it’s always best to check the retailer’s store locator.

But, generally speaking, most Next stores open their doors at 6am on Boxing Day.

The early opening times help crowds to avoid busy periods, which is particularly important this year.

It’s also worth noting that some Next stores won’t be able to open at all.

Stores in tier 4 areas of the country will be forced to remain closed.

Tier 4 restrictions won’t allow non-essential stores to open, in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The Government earlier this week announced that the entire southeast of England will enter tier 4 from Boxing Day.

Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Sussex, and Surrey also entered the highest tire of restrictions.

“Our stores in England in Tier 1, 2 and 3 are open as normal, many with extended Christmas shopping times,” said Next.

“In line with the latest English Government announcement, from the evening of Saturday 19th December, our stores in England that fall within Tier 4 restrictions will only be open for online orders and online returns.

“You will not be able to shop inside these stores from this time.

“Due to change in guidance, our sale in Tier 4 areas will now be an online-only event.”

Next Boxing Day sales will also be available online, if you’d rather not venture outside.

You can get early access to the Next Boxing Day sale if you have a Next Pay account.

You’ll need to book a VIP slot online to gain access to the sales section of the website.

Next Pay shoppers also get £10 off of their first credit purchase of £15 or more.
