Massive queues are forecast as punters scramble to snap up tickets for tonight’s £144million lotto draw.

The EuroMillions prize will make the winner wealthier than Adele and worth more than fellow chart-toppers Ed Sheeran and Little Mix put together.

The National Lottery’s Andy Carter predicted: “This could create the country’s third-biggest winner ever.”

Despite odds of 140 million to one, huge crowds are expected at ticket terminals around lunchtime and after work as Brits take a £2.50-a-line punt.

The payout for matching all five numbers and two lucky stars would allow the winner to buy Spectabilis Island – a millionaire’s playground in the Bahamas – for a mere £47.7million and still have close on £100million in change.

The UK’s record Euromillions winners are Colin and Chris Weir, of Largs, Ayrshire, who scooped £161million in 2011.

They recently sold their refurbished £795,000 home for £1.4 mil- lion and moved to a £3million pile in nearby Troon.

Second-biggest winners Gillian and Adrian Bayford, from Haverhill, Suffolk, won £148million in August 2012 but split 15 months later.
