MANY people have a go-to order at Starbucks, but one employee's tip may have you shaking things up the next time you hit the coffee chain.

A barista who's worked at Starbucks for three years has revealed what you should be adding to your drink order to get more bang for your buck.

In a Reddit thread full of fast-food employee secrets, a Starbucks employee wrote: "The best drink to get if you want something cheap is iced coffee."

They explained that you can add as many pumps of syrup as you would like all for free.

Plus, you can apparently make it taste better than any of the lattes on the menu, according to the employee.

When put to the test, the barista's tip checks out.

For instance, a grande caffé latte with two pumps of caramel syrup will run you $5.25, whereas a grande iced coffee with milk and the same amount of syrup will only cost you $3.95.

If you're someone who heads to Starbucks daily, or even weekly, those extra savings will add up in the long run.

Additionally, the barista gave an extra tip for those that love strong coffee but still want to save some change.

"Also, ask for steamed iced coffee if our coffee is too weak," they wrote.
