Prince Harry knows that if his mother, Princess Diana, were here today, she and Meghan Markle would extremely close — and we have to agree! Diana would adore her daughter-in-law and do whatever she could to support her in her new role as the Duchess of Sussex. As most people know, while royal life is certainly glamorous and comes with perks, it is anything but easy.

Royal family members are always under media scrutiny, they are photographed wherever they go, and there always seem to be rumors circulating about their lives. Meghan, one of the newest members of the royal family, has been dealing with more than her fair share of drama since her engagement to Harry was announced almost two years ago.

Fans can’t help but wonder — read: speculate — how Diana would be supporting Meghan during this stressful time.

Princess Diana was known for being compassionate

07 December 1996: [Swipe] Princess Diana arrives at The Welcome Trust Building in London to attend a charity conference hosted by The Leprosy Mission in Great Britain under the slogan 'Leprosy Success And Challenge'. In her speech, she said: "As patron of The Leprosy Mission, I've had the privilege of visiting a number of centers across Asia and Africa. On each occasion, I've been deeply moved both by the level of suffering and also by the efforts being made to deal with the condition. It's always been my concern to touch people with leprosy, trying to show in a simple action that they are not reviled nor are we repulsed. So I say congratulations, ladies and gentlemen, on your success after 30 years. And may you all know great courage and perseverance as you seek to enable those affected by leprosy, to lead lives of dignity, value and of hope. Thank you."

What drama is Meghan Markle experiencing?

As royal fans are well aware, Meghan is experiencing family drama with her half-sister, Samantha Grant, and her estranged father, Thomas Markle. Samantha has spoken negatively about Meghan and Harry in interviews and social media, never passing up an opportunity to make hurtful statements regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan’s father made an attempt to cash in on her wedding to Harry by staging paparazzi photos, and the two have not spoken in almost a year.

How is the drama affecting Meghan Markle?

The Duchess' mother Doria has joined her and Prince Harry at Kensington Palace to celebrate the publication of Together: Our Community Cookbook, which Meghan has helped create. It is pretty amazing to see the Duchess's mum at a royal event. Doria apparently told guests she was “head over heels” about her daughter’s accomplishment. While the duchess has not spoken publicly regarding her family drama, we can only imagine that it is quite hurtful. Although she has the support of her mother, Doria Ragland, who she is extremely close to, it would be wonderful if she had the support of other family members as well. With Meghan expecting her first child in a matter of weeks, it is very likely that she wishes her entire family could be with her to celebrate this happy time.

How would Princess Diana have supported Meghan Markle through all of the drama?

Chances are, Diana would be right by Meghan’s side throughout all of the family drama. She would lend an ear whenever Meghan needed to talk and offer whatever advice she thought was best. Most likely, Diana would even be a close friend of Doria’s, and together, they would be there to support the duchess. Diana herself was no stranger to drama, so she would have been an excellent person for Meghan to connect with during this time in her life.

Who is Meghan Markle leaning on currently?

The duchess is certainly not alone. She talks to her mother whenever possible, and Harry is always there for his wife as well. Now that rumors of a feud between Meghan and Kate Middleton are beginning to fade, she can likely turn to her sister-in-law whenever she needs to. Meghan also has many close friends, such as Amal Clooney and Serena Williams, who will undoubtedly always be there when she needs them. While we would have loved to see Harry’s mother with Meghan, we are glad that she has so many caring people in her life!
