Anti-racism campaigners reacted with fury after a flag praising “Sir Tommy Robinson” was waved at a football game.
The St George’s flag covered in right-wing symbols, was seen at the Rangers match against St Mirren in Glasgow.
Former EDL leader Robinson posted an image of the banner on his Instagram five days ago stating: “A thank you to these Rangers fans today.”
Show Racism the Red Card (Scotland) tweeted that: “Tommy Robinson and his views are as unwelcome in Scottish football grounds as they are in Scottish society.”
A spokesman for Rangers said: “This banner was taken down as soon as it was spotted.”
The Twitter account Football Lads & Lasses Against Fascism responded by saying “These eejits brought a Tommy Robinson banner to Ibrox on Sat. Rangers fans who oppose this s**t need to get a grip of it.”
