A dad challenged gender stereotypes by dressing up in an Elsa costume with his son.
Scott Stuart was inspired by his seven-year-old, Colin, who is a huge Frozen fan and carries an Elsa doll with him “everywhere”.
He was worried about what people may think of his outfit but didn't let this hold him back.
The best-selling children’s author and his son dressed in Disney costumes as they attended the Frozen musical premiere in Sydney, Australia.
He told FEMAIL : “I grew up in a strict family unit under very rigid gender stereotypes, and the fear of being judged by others has stuck with me.
“By breaking a gender stereotype in public, I was, quite frankly, terribly scared and nervous.”
Scott, who is from Melbourne, spoke about his fears in a TikTok video that’s been viewed more than 1.9 million times.
In the clip, the dad says: “My son asked me to wear a Frozen dress to the Frozen musical.
“I am so nervous but let’s do this.”
Facing these fears, he walks outside in an icy blue outfit and strikes a pose by a Frozen poster with his son.
Fans were very moved by the moment and praised Scott for supporting his son’s hobbies.
One TikTok commenter gushed: “Best example of loving your child right where they are. Bravo.”
Another said: “Because of you this child will grow up able to love himself. Thank you.”
A third wrote: “That is an amazing dad!
They continued: "I would say he deserves a reward but his child’s smile is rewarding enough. #DadOfTheYear.”
Another remarked: “Brought tears to my eyes. All parents should be like this.”
And a fifth added: “This is parenting done right.”
