Britain’s first gay father has become a dad again – with his daughter’s former boyfriend.
Multi-millionaire Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, 50, is now set to marry Scott Hutchison, 25, after the arrival of a baby girl through a surrogate mother.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow paid the surrogate £77,000 to give birth to little Valentina Willow in the US. The baby was born a month prematurely weighing just 5lbs.
The businessman said: ‘Every parent thinks their baby is the best-looking baby in the world, but the truth is Valentina Willow is the best-looking baby in the world.
‘We couldn’t be happier with the way she looks. In all fairness, we expected nothing else. After all, we scoured the planet for the best-looking egg donor we could find and $100,000 later (£77,000) we got the donor we wanted and the best-looking baby anyone could ever want.’

Mr Drewitt-Barlow, from Essex but now living in the US, began a relationship with his former personal assistant Mr Hutchison after he dated his daughter Saffron. The millionaire and his then husband Tony made history in 1999 when a surrogate gave birth to twins Saffron and Aspen and they won a legal battle to become the first same-sex couple to be registered as parents.
They went on to have three more children. The couple met in 1987 and gained a vast fortune through a range of business ventures, including a global medical research company.
They are now worth £40million and live in a £6million ten-bedroom mansion in Florida. Although Mr Drewitt-Barlow and Tony have split up as a couple, they still live together and share the home with Mr Hutchison.
They say they live as ‘dad, daddy and stepdad’ to the children in ‘a very 21st-century family set-up’.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow said of the birth: ‘We are exhausted and elated. I’m thrilled, Scott is too and Tony will be uncle Tony and god-daddy.’
The baby is named after their favourite character from TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The businessman and Tony said they realised they were no longer compatible as husbands ‘but were still devoted dads’ and are now ‘amicably divorcing’.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow added: ‘It was strange when Saffron first met Valentina. It crossed my mind that this could have been her baby with Scott and my grandchild.

‘It was just not the right connection between her and Scott. They were always better as friends than trying to date. She has been amazing – she is now my queen and Valentina is our princess.’
He and Mr Hutchison had been attending a dog show in Florida when the surrogate mother contacted them to say she had gone into labour in San Francisco.
The couple – and Saffron – booked a flight which was later cancelled and there were no more seats on the next plane. Then they burst into tears when they received a photo of Valentina being born. Another family generously offered to swap tickets with them on the next plane.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow said: ‘What a brilliant gesture! We gladly swapped our first-class tickets with what must have been the cheapest three seats on the plane… scattered around.
‘We were virtually in the hold. But we were so grateful. At this point, we just wanted to get to our girl who was thousands of miles away.’ They brought £50,000 of baby clothes in a designer Louis Vuitton bag and went straight to the hospital.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow recalled: ‘It was incredibly emotional meeting her.’ However, none of the clothes they brought fitted Valentina because she was premature so Mr Hutchison dashed to a store to buy the correct size. The couple now plan to marry in a lavish ceremony next summer after the divorce from Tony is finalised.
In the meantime they are already planning to have two more babies – as they had originally wanted triplets.
Mr Drewitt-Barlow said: ‘We’re already under way with plans for a surrogate to have twins.’
