Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is home and recovering after a medical scare.
The 68-year-old rocker “was released from the hospital and is home and doing well,” his representative Marcee Rondan told USA TODAY.
Perry was hospitalized with breathing problems after he appeared onstage with Billy Joel at New York’s Madison Square Garden Saturday night. The rocker began experiencing shortness of breath backstage after his performance.
After joining Joel for a rendition of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way,” paramedics “gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital,” Rondan previously told USA TODAY.
On Tuesday, Perry tweeted a status update: “Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!”
Two years ago, Perry was hospitalized after a Brooklyn performance with Hollywood Vampires, his band with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, with videos showed Perry sitting down mid-song before making his way off the stage.
In a previous statement, Rondan said that Perry is expected to return to the road this month.
