Vegan food has come far in the last few years. We have plant-based options at Greggs, KFC and even McDonald’s.

When it comes to pizza, most chains, (but not all – we’re looking at you Domino’s) now offer vegan toppings, but Pizza Hut is taking it even further.

Behold, the vegan stuffed crust pizza.

Yes, not only can you have cheesey goodness on top, but you can also enjoy a ring of it melted into the edges.

The stuffed crust is celebrating its 25th birthday this year and now vegans can join in on the action.

The vegan version has been developed using Violife’s vegan alternative to cheese.

The new menu addition will be available from tomorrow.

It follows the success of the vegan pepperoni pizza, The Pepperphoni, launched in January, with nearly 40,000 vegan pizzas sold in the first month.

Pizza Hut’s vegan options are available to dine-in and take-out at every restaurant in England, Scotland and Wales, and for delivery from selected Pizza Hut Restaurants on Deliveroo and Uber Eats from today.

Ciara Grace, Senior Menu Innovation Manager at Pizza Hut Restaurants, commented on the launch, saying: ‘We’re always looking into new and exciting ways to develop our menu and cater to as many guests as possible.

‘The vegan stuffed crust was naturally the next step for us to grow our plant-based offering at Pizza Hut Restaurants. We’re really excited to launch the vegan stuffed crust as we’re confident it’s going to be a hit on both taste and texture.”

Simon Orchard, UK & Ireland Country Manager, added: ‘The stuffed crust pizza has been a firm favourite for 25 years, and Violife are excited to be partnering with Pizza Hut to make a vegan version a reality.

‘We can’t wait for customers to try the deliciously melty new stuffed crust, and help continues to show people that’s it’s never been easier to go dairy-free.’

The vegan stuffed crust option is available as an Individual Pizza for a £2.50 add on cost.
