Not all chocolate drinks have to be sweet, rich and creamy. This one combines the rich taste of cocoa with the toasted hazelnut flavour of Frangelico to make the perfect sparkler for chocolate lovers. Anyone who enjoys their fizz and chocolate will be on to a winner. Finely crushed chocolate or cocoa powder to garnish (optional).
20ml/ ¾ oz crème de cacao
10ml/ ⅓ oz Frangelico
Dash of lemon juice
Well chilled Asti Spumante or other semi-sweet sparkling wine, to top
If using the garnish, moisten the rim of a chilled Champagne coupe and dip it carefully into finely crushed chocolate or cocoa powder.
Pour the crème de cacao, Frangelico and lemon juice into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake well.
Strain carefully into the glass, top with Asti Spumante and serve.
