Some may be surprised to learn that the top makeup artist does not feel the need to use pricey brushes all of the time. In fact, when questioned on what her tool of choice is when applying foundation, she revealed: “Hands are the best tools. “When I work with models I really feel the structure of the face using my hands and prep their skin accordingly.” Nikki had a host of other tips she shared during her tutorial at the GLAMOUR Beauty Festival.

One of these was picking the best primer for your skin type will make sure the rest of the look is flawless.
Oily skins should start with a mattifying primer, while those who don’t worry about shine can choose something more pearlescent or illuminating.
Another top tip Nikki shared for long lasting makeup was to apply pencil to eyes before eyeshadow.
Nikki usually uses a brown eyeliner which suits all skin tones, blending it into the eye crease before putting powder shadow on top.
Explaining why, she said: “This will ensure your powder stays in place and doesn’t crease. Brown pencil works so nicely on all eye colours.”
