The brainchild of Red Letter Days, people can post a sealed card in the box to be delivered to someone who otherwise wouldn’t get one.
With boxes installed in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, the feel-good factor will be spread around the country.
Red Letter Days is encouraging people to spare just a few minutes to pop a card in, and they’ll sent it on to those who need it most.
Alison Vickery, who works for Red Letter Days, said: "For many people, Valentine's Day is a fun and joyful occasion centering on love, affection and kindness.
"But for others, Valentine's Day can exacerbate feelings of isolation and loneliness.
"This is why we're encouraging members of the public to write a heartwarming message to a complete stranger this year, to help make Valentine's Day an uplifting occasion for all.
"Your small and selfless act of kindness will make a huge difference to the recipient's day, week, month and maybe even their year.
"It only takes a minute to write a card and spread some love; so we'd be delighted to see people taking the time to get involved, by sending message to somebody who might not otherwise enjoy the day."
