A married ‘ vampire ‘ couple have opened up about how they feed off a donor girlfriend’s blood each month to get their fix.
Logan and Daley South suck the blood from Ilona after pricking her finger with the same device diabetics use to get "just the right amount."
The pair say that as ‘vampires’ they need to take in human energy in the form of blood or psychic energy or sexual energy to keep themselves healthy.
Daley, 31, insists her motive behind the monthly ritual is not "sexual" – instead when she’s feeling down and "needs a little feed" she calls on Ilona.
However, Logan, 32, is drawn to the intimate and sexual side.
"There is a sense of a very sexual nature to it, you know, because it is someone taking you in," Daley said.
The couple have lifted the lid on their unconventional way of life to We TV reality series Extreme Love .
The polyamorous pair have had an open relationship since they met seven years ago – when Logan was dating someone else.
They call themselves the ‘king and queen’ of the Vampire Court of Austin, Texas, wear fangs, shun sunlight and sleep during the day.
They tied the knot in 2017 in a $120k ceremony complete with Dracula cake and pole dancers.
"I’m not turned on while I’m drinking blood," said Daley, who has had her ears surgically altered so they are now pointed.
"I don’t like the way blood tastes. I find it inconvenient to have to do regularly. I don’t like the way blood tastes."
Logan and Daley always get to know their blood donors and have them tested every six months for bloodborne diseases.
The first time Daley ever drank blood was when while she was sat in an English class.
"It was actually a really intense experience for me," she said, adding she started to feel this ‘intense thirst’ she had never felt before.
"I ran to the first water fountain I could find and I started gulping down water.
"I didn’t feel any less thirsty. At that point, I happened to run into one of my friends in the hallway that had been helping me through my awakening.
"We found my friend and they pulled out a lancet and I drank from them and it was immediately gone."
Meanwhile Logan, who spends just an hour a week in the sun, had his "vampiric awakening" when he was 15.
He said: "Being a vampire isn’t something that you can just choose. It is something you are born with. It is something that is a part of you.
"The first time I ever consumed blood, it was empowering, heightened all of my senses and sensations — a rush."
