It’s hard to believe, but Chip and Joanna Gaines just shared baby Crew’s first birthday photos. As in, yes, baby Crew turned one at the end of June, and we still can’t believe it. Wasn’t the youngest Gaines born yesterday? It feels a little like someone hit warp speed in the time-space continuum, but little Crew has reached this special milestone — and Chip and Joanna just shared the oh-so-cute photos of the celebration held for their one-year-old son.
The proud mama and papa took to their individual Instagram accounts on Friday to share the sweet snapshots with the world. Judging by their captions, they’re experiencing just as much shock as the rest of us (if not more) that Crew’s first birthday has already come and gone. “I can’t believe Baby Crew is already ONE!” Joanna wrote, adding an apropos crying face emoji. “This joyful, funny, easy-going sidekick of mine sure is easy to celebrate. I’m sharing some highlights from his first birthday party along with a few more updates on my blog at the link in profile.”
In a follow-up post, Joanna added, “Ok I promise this is the last round of Crew’s [birthday] photos (for today), I just can’t get over the fact that he is ONE and I also just really love his squishy legs.”
In trademark Chip fashion, his post proved a bit goofier. He shared two photos — one of himself biting into baby Crew’s smash cake, and another of Crew following suit. Chip’s caption? “Like father, like son.”
It’s only natural that Chip and Joanna would relish baby Crew’s birthday. The fifth child the couple has welcomed — they also share Drake, 14, Ella Rose, 12, Duke, 10, and Emmie Kay, 9 — Crew is the baby of the family. Although, if Chip has any say in the matter, that might not be the case forever. When asked by People in March whether they might expand their brood even more, Joanna said, “Heck if I know. I thought I was done, and then we had Crew… But [Chip] is always joking that he wants him to have a little sister.”
Hmm, sounds like there could be more first birthdays in the Gaines fam before all is said and done.
