Acclaimed Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal TV producer Shonda Rhimes is reaping the rewards of her success—she just purchased a ritzy Upper East Side New York City condo for nearly $12 million, RadarOnline.com has learned.

As The Real Deal has reported, Rhimes, 48, bought her new home on Thursday, December 6 and paid a whopping $11.75 million as Brown Harris Stevens USA has noted.

The condo features just two bedrooms and two and a half baths, but it’s valuable real estate in crowded New York.

Rhimes also came away with somewhat of a bargain. The unit was first listed in March for $14.75 million before being slashed to $12.5 million in June. Then the seller whittled down the price a little more so the producer bought it for less than $12 million.

The penthouse property, which also has a terrace, underwent a two-year renovation, according to its listing on Brown Harris Stevens’ website.

Rhimes will enjoy all the amenities of the 48-unit “white-glove” historic co-op building, which was constructed in 1927 and designed by architect Rosario Candela.

It has a private elevator and stunning city views, soaring ceilings, new double pane windows, and a wood-burning fireplace.

The producer will host her friends and family members in the home’s formal dining room and luxurious library.

There’s a state-of-the-art kitchen, too, with a large eat-in island, plus a wet bar.

A laundry room with maid’s bath hidden behind a secret door is another asset for Rhimes.

She’ll also no doubt use the condo’s incredible powder room featuring a marble floor that is a copy of a garden at Versailles!

As Radar previously reported, Rhimes is selling her home in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, California, for nearly $10 million dollars.

She has plenty of money. The producer and creator of the ABC hits Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, also created her own production company called Shondaland.

The house Rhimes has put on the market was built in 1924.

It includes six bedrooms and nine baths and sits on more than 8,000 square feet.

Rhimes could likely part with the home because she also owns three other properties in L.A., Radar has discovered. She bought one of the other houses for more than $8 million.

The producer extraordinaire has adopted two daughters and in September 2013, she welcomed her third girl via gestational surrogacy.
