Sir Paul McCartney’s home was raided by thieves just days before his homecoming gig in Liverpool.

The Beatle’s £10million London mansion was broken into on Friday, according to reports.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirm to the Daily Mail that officers responded to a break-in at 6.20pm.

A spokesman said: "We attended and identified signs of forced entry."

It is not known if Sir Paul or his wife Nancy Shevell was home at the time of the raid.

The security scare comes almost 38 years to the day that Lennon was murdered in New York.

The Metropolitan Police said that no arrests have been made and their inquiries continue.
