Michael Barrymore had his first interview in decades last night, when he appeared on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
And the Good Morning Britain presenter grilled the former TV star on the most controversial moments of his life, including his past alcohol and drug addictions.
He also spoke about his close relationship with Princess Diana.
When the questioning drew to an end, Michael, 67, could be seen breaking down in tears.
As he wiped away tears, Michael dropped the F-bomb, before saying “Sorry”.
Trying to console him, Piers, 54, said: “It’s not easy going over this stuff must be very difficult for you.”
Piers then thanked Michael for coming on the show.
Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the emotional moment.
One social networker said: “You are the best and hope you continue to stay in that happy place .. Wow what a journey!”
While another continued: “Life stories was amazing. You are loved.”
A third added: “He’s not everyone’s cup of tea but that was a sensational interview from Piers Morgan with Michael Barrymore. Gripping television.”
Michael Barrymore opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Cheryl Barrymore, who was also his manager at one stage.
He said: “Too much wrapped up in one, the very thing that made it work was what destroyed it in the end.”
