Lewis Hamilton says people should ‘earn their position’

Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, 42, has been dating retired rugby player Thom Evans, 35, for almost a year after they grew close following his stint on Celebrity X Factor last year. On the show, Nicole was a judge with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, while Thom was a part of the boyband Tri-star.

In January, the pair went public with their romance.

They have since given fans an insight into their blossoming romance on their respective Instagram pages.

Discussing their future together, Nicole has revealed she wants to have children with Thom.

She said: “He’s my man… the man of my dreams. I definitely want kids, at the right time. It is all about timing.”

But, the singer insisted her baby plans will have to be put on hold as she is set to go on tour with the Pussycat Dolls next year.

The girl band reunited last year after a 10-year break and were due to kick off their reunion tour back in April.

“It’s kind of hard now because I’m supposed to be touring next year, so it’s just about timing.

“I’ve always wanted a family,” she added to The Mirror.

Nicole was previously in a relationship with Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, 35, for eight years up until 2016.

Following their split, the racing star said he had always put his cars before a girlfriend.

He told The Sun in 2017: “My cars are my babies. I used to say, when I had a girlfriend, ‘I’m taking one of the girls out, so you can come if you want, but you come second when it comes to the cars.”

He has since made the admission he would also like to have children in the future, but said he was too busy for romance.

“My love life is non-existent,” he told The Telegraph in 2018.

“When you travel as much as I do it’s hard to keep up a relationship, so I’m of the mindset that I’m not going to do that until I’ve stopped and no longer have to be single-minded.”

The Mercedes driver went on to say despite being focused on his career, he would like to settle down and have children when his schedule is less busy.

“I want to have kids, but I want to be there for them – to be a good and present dad,” he added.

Tonight, Lewis and the likes of WBC Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury are expected to be in contention for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year 2020 reward.

It comes after he claimed his seventh world title at the Turkish Grand Prix last month.

In his personal life, the Formula One star isn’t believed to be currently dating anybody.

Sports Personality of the Year 2020 airs tonight on BBC One at 8pm.
