Kerry Katona has revealed she never throws birthday parties because of a horrible experience in her childhood.
The former Atomic Kitten singer recalled that she begun to "hate" parties when she was just nine years old, after nobody turned up to her special day.
Revealing the horrific reason that her guests were a no-show, Celebs Go Dating favourite Kerry claimed she believed that guests were harboring "prejudice" towards her mother and aunt for being gay.
Speaking in her new! magazine column, she said: "I hate parties in general. It stems from my ninth birthday, when my mum threw me a do.
"She was a lesbian and her sister, who was also gay, and their partners came too.
"It was the 80’s and I’m guessing the prejudice was huge because not a single other person turned up".
Revealing the heartbreaking extent of the situation, Kerry added: "I had to play pass the parcel on my own! So I swore I’d never have a birthday do again".
Despite the vow, Kerry did briefly break from her pact in order to host a 30th birthday party, which aired on TV.
She also held a baby shower for her daughter DJ, but revealed she hated receiving presents.
Explaining her reasoning, Kerry reflected on The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s lavish shower in Now York.
Kerry went on to claim that there was something she found uncomfortable about "rich, important women accepting gifts".
