Kate Garraway, while appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, revealed her husband Derek Draper no longer has coronavirus. But she also opened up on her anguish of her family being kept away from him during this difficult time, while she has been allowed to visit her husband in hospital.

Is Kate Garraway’s husband still in a coma?

Kate’s husband, Derek Draper has been in intensive care for more than seven months since his initial admission back in March after testing positive for the virus.

Back in July, Kate spoke of how Derek has emerged from a deep coma and was in a minimal state of consciousness.

Kate told, HELLO!: “We’re keeping positive and doing everything we can to bring him round.

“The children and I communicate with him every day on FaceTime, while a nurse holds his iPad.”

While appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Kate spoke of Derek’s situation while discussing President Trump’s diagnosis.

Kate said: “The problem is that Donald Trump is still doing that, when you look at that footage of him doing that [leaving hospital], the message of him doing that is ‘I’m doing fine, I’m fighting the virus great,’

“But that plays into the idea that if you get coronavirus and survive, then you’re a hero.

“You’re not, you’re very lucky. The heroes are the people who are treating you and helping you.”

She later added: “Derek still hasn’t been allowed, even though he’s no longer tested positive for coronavirus, children can’t visit, his mum and dad haven’t seen him.

“And I personally believe that actually having them in room could possibly be of great benefit.”

On Sunday, Kate shared a message of hope to her followers on Instagram as she visited husband Derek in hospital.

“He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.
