Kane Brown shared a new acoustic performance of “For My Daughter” on Sunday, presenting a special gift to his baby girl Kingsley Rose on Father’s Day. He was accompanied by a guitarist and violinist.

“They say dads are supposed to shape you, in a way I guess mine did/ I knew what I wouldn’t do if I ever had a kid/ They say history repeats itself — well, I guess that’s up to me/ Yeah, I grew up without a dad/ I’m gonna be the best one I can be,” he sings, vowing to be a good father.

The country star, who wrote the song for his daughter, who was born last October, released the song a few days after her birth.

“My dad’s been in prison since ’96. So I kinda grew up without a dad. So I knew that whenever I had a daughter, I was always gonna be there for her, and just be the best I could be,” Brown revealed during an appearance on the “Today Show” in February.
