Following an appearance on the popular TV programme, Catchphrase, Dan praised the host, Stephen Mulhern. Dan filmed an episode of the programme with boxer, Tony Bellew and Kelly Osbourne and quickly tweeted of his enjoyment at doing so. Speaking of the “laugh” he had on the show, Dan also praised Stephen.

Tweeting to his followers, Dan wrote: “Had an amazing laugh filming Catchphrase with Tony Bellew & Kelly Osbourne.

“Stephen Mulhern was just as nice in real life as he is on the telly box.

“I’ll let you know when it’s on.”

His praise for Stephen comes after Dan shared a picture from his childhood to his 565,000 followers earlier this week.

Following a push to get the public to send in childhood photos of themselves, Dan posted an image of himself wearing a chequered shirt and striped cardigan.

Jokingly, however, Dan admitted that he wasn’t quite happy with his hairstyle in the picture.

He wrote on Twitter: “We are talking about growing up on BBC Breakfast tomorrow.

“Our producer asked for a few photographs.

“My mum produced this belter.

“Not sure what’s worse, the cardigan or the fringe.”

His comedic tweet comes after the BBC Breakfast man has been embroiled in a series of Twitter spats lately.

Last week, he replied to a tweet from Leeds United football club.

Derby County lost in the Championship Playoff Final on Monday and following their loss, Leeds poked fun at the Midlands club with a vomit emoji.

Following that, a Leeds fan responded to Dan saying: “I think the ‘banter’ should be left to the fans, but you’ve made yourself look very biased by only calling out one team.”

Dan replied with a fairly balanced response saying that Leeds’ original tweet was a “little below the belt”.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
