The marriage of the Coleen and Wayne Rooney could be on the up again after a shock U-turn, with the former England captain vowing to ‘work for forgiveness’.

The 11-year marriage could be saved after 32-year-old Coleen decided better of walking away and now wants to get their family’s life back on track again.

It has been a torrid few weeks for Wayne and Coleen after the footballer went on a 10-hour boozing session with a barmaid, following a previous arrest for ‘public intoxication’.

With Coleen reportedly looking for the next flight back to the UK from Washington, where Wayne is captain of MLS team DC United, it looked like all was lost.

Sources close to the pair have told The Sun that she has now had a change of heart after ‘calming down’ and put her £200,000 wedding ring back on.

Wayne had previously told pals that it might be a ‘relief’ if they split, though admitted he would be ‘devastated’ if it came to fruition.

Speaking to The Sun, the source said, “They had a nice Valentine’s Day evening together," and peace was reigning as, "Coleen’s calmed down and she wants to move on and get their family life back on track."

It’s not just for the sake of her and Wayne though and the source revealed, "It’s partly for the sake of her sons," and that after everything, "she feels they’ve been through too much together for her to walk away now."

As Wayne enters pre-season training in the United States, Coleen is looking to take the kids away on holiday.

With Wayne back towing the line, she will look to take sons Kai, nine, Klay, five, Kit, three, and Cass, one, away for a break.

After what looked a desperate situation, many thought it was all over but it’s not now.
