The stars of Big Little Lies are showing each other love on Instagram in honor of Galentine’s Day. Reese Witherspoon, who is both an actress and co-executive producer for the hit HBO series, kicked off the social media shoutouts earlier today with a loving post dedicated to the her fellow costars: Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley.
“True love is the love you have for your sisters, your girlfriends, your circle of strong women… and the ones who tell you that you have food in your teeth. Happy #GalentinesDay! 💕,” Witherspoon wrote. She posted a photo with her cast sporting Valentine’s Day-appropriate red and pink outfits.
Hangouts among the BLL cast are pretty common. The stars often post photos from their gatherings, whether it’s between takes on set, on the red carpet, or casual get-togethers outside of work. But, whenever they do go out together, Kidman and Witherspoon always pick up the tab, the cast revealed last week during the Television Critics Association press tour.
“They won’t let us pay! I’ve tried! We’ve tried, Shailene!” Kravitz said.
“You try, and we always pay,” Kidman replied. “And, we’re producers, we should be.”
Following Witherspoon’s lead, the Australian actress also posted a Galentine’s Day Instagram in honor of her fellow ladies of BLL.
“I’m loving seeing so many empowered women supporting women on my feed today for #GalentinesDay 💞,” she captioned the photo. “It reminds me how lucky I am to be surrounded by some truly talented ladies myself. I’d love if you tagged your best gals below and let them know just how special they are to you Xx”
Laura Dern also chimed in with a photo of the BLL cast in their Audrey Hepburn-inspired costumes from Season 1. “Joining in on the #GalentinesDayfun! So grateful for my girls every single day. ♥️ 💜 💓💞💝💚💙💖💘❣️💕🧡💗💛,” she wrote.
HBO announced last week that Big Little Lies Season 2 is officially premiering in June, which means it’s only a matter of months until we find out what our favorite moms of Monterey have been up to since last season’s dramatic finale.
