Since salons closed their doors back in March, people have been forced to take beauty treatments into their own hands.
Thankfully, TikTok is home to a plethora of beauty hacks to help those attempting to stay on top of their appearance at home.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen people curling their hair with dressing gown belts to individuals contouring their noses – and everything in between.
But it seems there’s a new genius hack doing the rounds that involves tinting eyebrows with an unexpected product – fan tan.
While it might seem like a wild idea (nobody wants bright orange eyebrows, after all) TikTok users are proving that it really does work.
One user, Chanelle, showed her followers how to create a professional-looking tint at home, with her favourite fake tan.
In the video, she starts by cleaning her brows before applying her tan using a small angled brunch.
She carefully fills in her brows with the tan, following their natural shape and plucking any stray hairs.
Chanelle then leaves the tan to develop for three hours – but it’s probably worth checking however long your own individual product says to leave it on for (and keep in mind how sensitive your skin is).
This might take a bit of experimentation to work out how long to leave it and how much to use, according to your own complexion.

In a follow-up video, Chanelle shows the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of her handiwork. She adds that, after the three-hour wait, she put some micellar water onto a cotton pad and removed the fake tan.
She says: ‘I was really relieved to see that my eyebrows weren’t orange and that they didn’t look as blocky as they did before.’

Chanelle’s video has received more than 1.2 million views on the platform, with over 96,000 likes.
